Shut up and kiss me!

Kendall and Starla kissSome of you are going to really like this and some of you are going to hate this. But since this is primarily about better relationships, bear with me. The word of the day is kiss. That’s right! Kiss.

In the same way that research has proven that a proper, passionate kiss can be the spark for a dying love life, likewise, a proper greeting in any situation can set the tone for success or failure. There are different variations of greetings. For instance, a handshake, a hug or just a fist bump or high five may be sufficient.

The Bible teaches in Romans 16:16 “Greet one another with a holy kiss.”

This shows that there is a proper way to greet brothers and sisters in the Lord. There is a proper way to greet neighbors, business associates and even strangers. By the way, not all require a kiss, but all do require respect.

There are different types of kisses for different occasions. Such as the peck on the cheek, blowing a kiss, kiss on the hand, a peck on the lips, or a passionate kiss on the lips. (Like Song of Solomon 1:2 Let him kiss me with the kisses of his mouth.”)

I remember the first time I kissed Starla. We were standing on the front steps of her dorm in college. I had walked her from her car to the dorm, and that’s when it happened. Time stood still, angels started singing, and the skies began to rumble and voice from heaven said, “What are you waiting for?” So I did it. Bam! Wow! The rest is history.

Hey, if you are married, go kiss your spouse like you really mean it and have a better day.
