I know that I have shared a few thoughts from my family’s State Fair of Texas annual tradition. But I have at least one more lesson from the fried food capital of the world.
My family and I have a several year tradition to go to the State Fair of Texas. We enjoy many aspects of the fair. But one of our favorites has to be the petting zoo. We will always go from pen to pen, feeding the animals. Giraffe’s, pigs, llama’s cows, zebra’s and animals I have never seen before or even heard of before. But what is interesting to me is that most of these animals are naturally afraid of humans. You wouldn’t be able to walk up to any of them and feed them in the wild. So what has happened? These animals have radically changed their lifestyle and nature in order to be fed or to be blessed. They have learned to trust our hands.
We are the same way. In order for us to be fed/blessed by God’s hand, we have to first learn to trust His hands.
Proverbs 3:5-6 Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; 6 in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.
The word of the day is learn. Learn to trust in the Lord and be blessed by His hand each and every day.
