21 Days of Thanksgiving- Day 11

I would really like for you take a little extra time today and read all twenty-six verses of Psalm 136. It is written in such a rhythmic and repetitious way, that it is obvious God is driving home an important point. (His faithful love endures forever!) This chapter recounts the magnificent and wonderful things God has done from creation to crossing the Red Sea, from enduring the wilderness to entering the Promised Land, from remembering us in our weakness to reminding us to be thankful. It is a beautiful and poetic exercise in recounting the faithful love of our God.

Today’s Scripture: Psalm 136:1-26 (below are verses 1-5)

Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good! His faithful love endures forever. Give thanks to the God of gods. His faithful love endures forever. Give thanks to the Lord of lords. His faithful love endures forever.

Give thanks to him who alone does mighty miracles. His faithful love endures forever. Give thanks to him who made the heavens so skillfully. His faithful love endures forever.

Today’s Challenge: Thank someone who goes out of their way to help someone else. This means you will need to be intentional today to watch for someone who make other’s lives a little easier. They may hold a door open, allow someone to go first in a line, they may help someone with their tasks at work. They may show kindness to someone in a unique way.

Watch for it. Then take the time to recognize it and thank them for the courtesy shown to someone else.

Stay Thankful,

Kendall Bridges
