4 Ways to Impact Someone’s Life Today!

If you have ever been in a car wreck, then you probably remember the moment of impact. That moment when everything suddenly comes to a crashing halt.

I can remember a few car wrecks that I have been in. In one wreck someone ran a red light and broadsided me. The impact was great enough to completely dislodge all the Dr. Pepper from my Styrofoam cup in the cup holder. (The cup remained). But my daughter Hunter, who was in a car seat in the backseat watching a Disney movie on the T.V., never knew it happened. Fast forward a few years and Hunter and I are driving to drop her off at a friend’s house. I handed her my cell phone to call and make sure of the directions. (I was trying to be safe and not talk on my phone while driving) But in the second or two that I looked over and handed her my phone, the car in front of me stopped. So did I. Unfortunately, the back of their car is what stopped me.

I remember the smell of the airbags. (Not good) I remember the deafening silence immediately after the impact. It’s as if everything was in slow motion. My brain was trying to catch up with the reality of what had happened.

Fortunately, everyone was alright. I could tell you about a few other car wrecks that I have been in, but you might form a judgement about my driving. (That would be sooooo wrong!)

The word of the day is impact. You can make a lasting impact in someone’s life today. No, I am not suggesting a car wreck.

Here are four ways you can make an impact in someone’s life today…

  1. Speak a kind word or an affirming word to someone you care for.
  2. Spend quality time with someone. Don’t be rushed.
  3. Be generous to someone. Give them something that they really need.
  4. Do something for someone that they do not expect.

Ephesians 2:10 (NCV) says, “God made us to do ‘good works,’”

God made you to do ‘good works.’ So choose to speak this word over your life, family and marriage and make a lasting impact in someone’s life today.
