It’s a Wonderful Life!

It's a wonderful life

I took a pair of boots into a shoe repair shop to get a new set of heels. When I walked in “Rico” the shoe repair man greeted me with a big smile and said, “It’s a wonderful day, isn’t it?” I said, “Yes it is!”

I told Starla about how happy this shoe repair man was. She said, “I have a pair of shoes that need some work done. If he does a good job on your boots, I’ll have him work on my shoes.” So Starla went with me to pick up my boots. We walked in the repair shop. There I saw Rico working hard polishing someone’s shoes. I called to him, “Rico, how are you doing?” He looked up and greeted Starla and me with that big smile and said, “It’s another wonderful day isn’t it?” He laughed and chuckled almost in a childlike way. He was happy to do be working and he did a good job.

As Starla began to ask him about himself, she discovered that he works seven days a week. His only days off are Easter, Thanksgiving and Christmas. Yet, he bubbled over with joy each time we entered his shop and said, “It’s a wonderful day.”

My friend as you are reading this right now, I’m sure you can think of many reasons why things are not perfect in your life. But you still have the opportunity to see that life is wonderful. So much of life is perspective. How you choose to view your circumstances makes all the difference in the world.

You can see lemons or you can see lemonade.

Psalm 40:5 (TLB) “O Lord my God, many and many a time you have done great miracles for us, and we are ever in your thoughts. Who else can do such glorious things? No one else can be compared with you. There isn’t time to tell of all your wonderful deeds.”

The word of the day is wonderful. Declare that today is a wonderful day.
