Fight or Flight!

fight or flight

This day of September 11th will always be a reminder to me of the day America was attacked on our own soil, by radical muslim extremists. Their vicious and brutal attacks brought down our World Trade Center towers, but did not bring down our resolve to be a great nation.

In fact, it only strengthened and renewed our resolve to dig deep into our soul as a nation and find the hope and courage to fight back and take back what was stolen.

The same is true in our lives, families and marriages. There will always be attacks. There will always be a threat to our freedom, joy and focus. But we have to find an inner strength that pulls us through these difficult times in order to rebound, recover and take back our lives.

How do we do that? It starts in submission to God in prayer.

James 4:7 says, “Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.”

First of all, submit yourself to God. Surrender your life, your plans and your agenda to God. His plan is better.

Secondly, resist the devil. Tell the devil to go back to the hell he came from. Tell him he is not welcome in your life, marriage, family or business. Your life belongs to God.

Tell him “Greater is He that is in you, than He that is in the world.” (1 John 4:4)

Keep telling yourself that you are more than a conqueror through Jesus Christ. (Romans 8:37)

Say it until you believe it.

The word of the day is attack. Attack your enemy back. Attack in prayer and see how much better your life will be.
