God, help me today!

DAWG DayPray!

“Pray” is the word of the day.

I want you to declare this word over your life, family and business today.

Prayer is one of the greatest things you can do for yourself and others. You’ve heard it said, “Prayer changes things.” However, it seems that not all circumstances change when we pray. But if you earnestly pray, the change that happens may be in you.

Sometimes God calms the storm and sometimes He calms the child. Either way, through prayer, you give God the opportunity to step into your life and into your marriage and change things for the better.

Luke 18:1 (NIV) Then Jesus told his disciples a parable to show them that they should always pray and not give up.

I encourage to plan a DAWG Day. Daily Appointment With God. D-A-W-G Day. Schedule a special time every day that you pray for your spouse and your family. That’s right, schedule it on your calendar. It may be in the morning. It may be on your lunch break. It may be before you go to bed. Whatever works best for your schedule, just find a 15 minute window where you can get alone and pray.

Philippians 4:6 (NIV) Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.

Use this simple method. A-C-T-S.

  • Adoration- Put on a worship song and just spend that time in adoration of who God is and how great He is.
  • Confession- Confess any sins to God. Confess your dependency upon Him. Confess that you have eyes that are fixed on God, a heart that is open and receptive, ears that are willing to hear and a desire to obey.
  • Thanksgiving- Thank God for all the things that He has done in your life. Thank Him for answered prayer in the past. By offering thanksgiving, you will build your faith for what you need today.
  • Supplication- This is simply a word that means to ask God for what you need. What do you need today? Ask Him and then trust Him.

Proverbs 3:5-6 Trust in the Lord with all your heart. Do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him and He will direct your path.

Let’s face it, there are things that we would like to see change in our lives, right? Well, prayer changes things. So, let’s pray.
