Pardon the Interruption!

interruption

I was sound asleep, in the middle of the night, when out of nowhere I heard the sound. It’s the sound that you only hear in the dark of the night. It’s the sound that interrupts your sweet dreams. It’s the sound that beckons you from the comfort of your warm bed. It’s the sound that refuses to allow you to go back to sleep. It’s the sound that demands a response.

What is the sound I’m talking about? It’s the beeping of the smoke detector when the batteries are running low. That’s right. That’s the sound of evil.

I don’t think I’ve ever heard one of my smoke detectors start beeping in the middle of the day. It’s always on the middle of the night. Crazy huh? Or maybe I’m just crazy.

Either way, here’s the word of the day. The word of the day is interruption. I want you to allow God to interrupt your life today. Let Him have more of your day than you had planned. Let Him speak to you, use you, teach you and comfort you.

Pause from the busyness of your day and let God interrupt you. If you are not careful you will fall into the same routine that has been producing frustration, stress and anxiety in your life. God wants to interrupt your agenda today and show you how much He loves you.

Start with this wonderful promise from God’s Word.

Isaiah 43:2 (The Message) “Don’t be afraid, I’ve redeemed you.    I’ve called your name. You’re mine. When you’re in over your head, I’ll be there with you.     When you’re in rough waters, you will not go down. When you’re between a rock and a hard place,     it won’t be a dead end— Because I am God, your personal God,     The Holy of Israel, your Savior. I paid a huge price for you: …That’s how much you mean to me!     That’s how much I love you!

Now that promise is worth the interruption.
