Hold On or Let Go!

confessionsThe church is such a fun and interesting family to belong to. It only has one problem. It has some weird people in it. Of course! Every church has their percentage of weird people. Now if you are reading this right now and you are thinking, “I don’t know any weird people.” You might be the one. I’m just kidding. J

I grew up in church with people praying for me at the altar. Someone on one side would be saying, “Hold on, Kendall, hold on.” While someone on the other side would be saying, “Let go, Kendall, let go.” I remember thinking, “Would you guys just make up your mind. Do I hold on, or let go?” The truth is, we need to do both. We need to hold on to God and get all of Him that we possibly can. We also need to let go. We need to bring our sins to the altar and drop it like it’s hot. In other words, let go.

But our words really do mean something. Our words really do matter. That’s why today’s word is confession. You need to understand the power of confession in your life, your marriage, your family and every area of your life.

Confess healing. Confess restoration. Confess unity. Confess salvation for your children. Confess blessings over your household.

Romans 4:17 He is our father in the sight of God, in whom he believed—the God who gives life to the dead and calls into being things that were not.

Use the power of your words, the power of your confession to call things into being that were not.

Confessing the right things will make your life better.
