Just the other day I was sitting in my living room and I yawned. My mouth pried open and my eyes begin to squint. I was inhaling air like a vacuum cleaner. Shortly after I yawned, I noticed that Starla yawned. We laughed about the fact that yawns are contagious. But did you know that no one knows why? Isn’t that crazy? There is no scientific explanation for why yawning is contagious. But we all know that it is.
Starla then spoke up and said, “Smiles are contagious too.”
She is exactly right. There many things that are contagious in our lives. Attitudes are contagious. When someone has a good attitude it will rub off on other people. A good work ethic is contagious.
On the other hand, bad attitudes are contagious. Bad work ethics can affect the productivity of others as well.
There are so many things that we do that can create a positive environment or negative environment.
Pay attention to these scriptures.
1 Corinthians 15:33 (NIV) Do not be misled: “Bad company corrupts good character.”
But on the other hand.
Proverbs 13:20 (NLT) “Walk with the wise and become wise;”
You have a choice about how you will make a difference in others’ lives.
The word of the day is contagious. Be contagious today for God, for good. It will make your life and others better.
