21 Days of Thanksgiving- Day 18

“Cultivate the habit of being grateful for every good thing that comes to you, and to give thanks continuously. And because all things have contributed to your advancement, you should include all things in your gratitude.” Ralph Waldo Emerson

Have you noticed how some days, everything goes perfect and some days everything seems to fall apart. There doesn’t seem to be any rhyme or reason. It seems that there is an “up and down” in life that just happens.

Today’s Scripture: James 1:17 (NIV) “Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.”

When life is offering you one of those challenging days, I want to encourage you to not lose focus of the good things that God has done for you. It is easy to get overwhelmed with the barrage of negative things that come at us from every angle. But remind yourself that every good and perfect gift is from God.

Today’s Challenge: Make a list of your top ten things that you are thankful for. Write them down and keep them somewhere easy to access. That way, the next time you have one of those challenging days, you can pull out your top ten list of things you are most thankful for and remind yourself of every good and perfect gift that God has blessed you with.

This will turn your day from a negative focus to a positive focus. It will change the entire mood of your day.

Stay Thankful,

Kendall Bridges
