Accept Instruction!

accept instructionWe all have the responsibility to make choices in life. It amazes me how two very similar individuals can make two completely different life choices.

Cain and Abel were both sons of Adam. Abel chose God and Cain chose murder.

Abraham and Lot were family and both pilgrims in Canaan. Abraham chooses God but Lot chose Sodom.

David and Saul were both kings of Israel. David chose God but Saul chooses power.

Peter and Judas were both followers of Jesus and both denied Jesus. Peter chose life and Judas chose death.

The older you get, the more important these choices become.

Somebody once said, “You know you’re getting older when…..”

  1. You bend over to pick something up & wonder if there is anything else you can get while you’re down there.
  2. Your knees buckle, but your belt won’t.
  3. Your back goes out more than you do.

There are incredible choices that you have to make in life. That’s why it is critical to listen to advice and accept instruction.

Proverbs 19:20 “Listen to advice and accept instruction, and in the end you will be wise”.

Right decisions seem to be more difficult to make than wrong ones? Someone once said, that the path of least resistance is what makes people and rivers crooked.

Some of the decisions that we make in life are not that earth shattering. History will see little difference in the cereal you chose to eat for breakfast, but there are choices in life that are important, even life altering. So accept instruction from God and others in order to make the best choices.

The word of the day is accept instruction.
