One of my favorite movies is, “Schindler’s List.” It is the true story of Nazi Czech businessman Oskar Schindler, who uses Jewish labor to start a factory in occupied Poland. As World War II continues, and the future of the Jews becomes more and more clear, Schindler’s heart begins to change from profit to human sympathy and he is able to save over 1100 Jews from death in the gas chambers.
After successfully saving over 1100 Jews, Schindler regrets that he could not have saved more lives.
Just “One More.” He cried as he realized he could have saved one more.
I wonder when is the last time that we were heart-broken over one more lost life.
Our days are filled with:
One more thing done before we go home from work.
One more item off the to-do list.
Our weeks are filled with:
One more week of work.
Our months are filled with:
One more bill to pay.
Our years pass by:
One more year until I graduate.
One more year until I get married.
One more year until I have my first child.
One more gray hair.
One more wrinkle
One more dollar, one more raise, one more promotion.
One more move up the ladder.
One more, one more, one more.
But have we ever stayed up at night and prayed, God give me one more person?
One more soul.
One more lost person, found.
One more sinner, saved.
One more prodigal, come home.
One more…
The word of the day is One More. As you are pursuing your “One More,“ thing to do today, make sure to remember to pray for, and to reach out to, “One More Person” who needs the good news.
Matthew 16:26 “What good will it be for someone to gain the whole world, yet forfeit their soul?”
