I was talking to someone the other day who seemed a bit overwhelmed. I asked them, what was wrong. They explained that they were so drained by the amount of time that they were having to invest in a certain person’s life. I asked why they kept doing it. They responded it. “I don’t initiate anything. This person just keeps calling on me.”
That’s when I explained, that you are not assigned to everyone that is attracted to you.
Let me explain it another way. You have 24 hours in every day. No more. No less. You can only spend those 24 hours one time, then they are gone forever. You have to be very specific about how and with whom you spend or invest those hours. You are responsible to God to invest them wisely. It is impossible for you to spend/invest your hours with everyone who asks or requires something from you.
You may have certain gifts, talents or even just a personal charisma that draws people to you. But that does not equate to assignment. Now please understand, I am not suggesting that you be rude to anyone. Kindness, gentleness and patience are fruits of the Spirit that we all need to operate in each day.
But you have a divine purpose that should direct your every step.
Psalm 37:23 (NLT) The Lord directs the steps of the godly. He delights in every detail of their lives.
The word of the day is assignment. Walk in your assignment. Live in your assignment. This will make your life better.
