33 years ago I stood on the platform of Faith Assembly of God Church in Pasadena, Texas and said two words that changed everything. “I do.”
When I said “I do,” to Starla, I was committing to be faithful to the vows that I made to her that day. Unfortunately, I was not always faithful to those vows. My lack of commitment, brought a lot of pain, hurt, betrayal and grief. But by the grace of God, we have found healing and restoration through Jesus Christ.
I realize more today, than I did 33 years ago, that when one says, “I do,” it means that we “keep on doing,” each day that we live.
Great marriages, great relationships and great lives are not an accident. They are products of “doing” the right things.
The word of the day is “I do.”
“You have to do right things to get right results.”
Think of what God did for us by sending Jesus as the sacrifice for our sins and keeps on doing for us today by working all things together for good.
Romans 8:28 “And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God…”
In our restoration process, I committed to Starla, that I would do whatever it takes to win her trust back. I’m still committed to doing that and will continue “to do” whatever it takes to be the man of God I need to be, to the most wonderful woman in the world. I love you Starla and “I do” all over again.
