God has a better plan!

betterI remember the summer before my senior year in High School, my parents decided to move from our home town of Waxahachie, Texas to Ft. Worth, Texas. I had attended school in the same school district all my life. Now, they wanted me to move and start all over in a completely new school. New friends. New neighborhood. New city.

I didn’t threaten to run away, but I was disappointed. Okay, I was a little more than disappointed, I was ticked off. But I came to grips with it and enrolled in the new school. I accepted the fact that this change was inevitable, only for Mom and Dad to decide that they would not move and Dad would commute instead.

What an emotional roller coaster!

Emotions are difficult to handle sometimes. Emotions are real and sometimes become the reason why many people turn to prescription and non-prescription medication to regulate their emotions.

(Don’t worry, I didn’t go smoke weed to deal with my disappointment.)

But emotions are challenging for many people.

The emotion that I was dealing with was simply disappointment.

I had to remind myself that sometimes God answers our prayers the way we ask and sometimes….he has a better plan.

You see God has shown me that even in my disappointments, if I will allow Him, He will show me a better plan.

Hebrews 11:40 says, “This was because God had something better in store for us.”

Is it possible that God has something better in store for us beyond what we have imagined, even when we can’t seem to reconcile certain promises in the scripture with the outcomes of our prayers?

Yes. It is not only possible. It is in fact the absolute truth.

The word of the day is better. Speak this over your life today.
