What do you do when God says, “No?”
You prayed for a miracle and it didn’t come. You believed in a dream and it didn’t happen. You stood on a promise and it failed.
What do you do, when everything that you believe in is put on the line and you are left with nothing but a broken heart, empty promises and no answers?
How do you cope with the people you now have to face? The questions that race through our minds are like asteroids flying through outer space. You feel like you are on a collision course with them. Was it my lack of faith? Was it someone else’s lack of faith? Was it a sin problem? Could I have done more? Could I have prayed longer?
We start questioning everything we did and everything we didn’t do.
We tell ourselves, “I should have read my Bible more.” “I should have confessed more scriptures.” “I should have had more faith.”
All of these thoughts and questions race through our minds at lightning speed. Sometimes we can’t turn off the thoughts long enough to even get rest for a night.
It appears that God has closed the door on this prayer and the answer is a loud and resounding “NO!”
How do you handle this?
How do you get back up and start believing again?
How do you resurrect your faith that seems to have just taken a nose dive?
The answer is in an old song we used to sing;
“Trust and obey, for there’s no other way, to be happy in Jesus, but to trust and obey.”
Proverbs 3:5-6 says, (NKJV) Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; 6 In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.
Trust and obey. That’s the word of the day. If you trust, you will obey.
