Starla and I were eating at a restaurant the other day with another couple. When all of a sudden, we saw our friends begin to gasp with surprise and concern at the same time. They pointed in the direction of the commotion. We looked back over our shoulders and saw a grown man choking on his food, while someone with him, was applying the Heimlich maneuver to dislodge whatever was blocking his air passage. Everyone in the restaurant had a look of concern. Literally the whole room was focused on this unfortunate incident, for just a moment.
In just a matter of seconds he was breathing again and all was well. But for a moment, everyone was concerned, as if to be holding our own breath, until he breathed again.
I don’t know if you have ever choked before, but it is a hopeless and helpless feeling. To not be able to breathe, is so awful.
The word of the day is breath.
Psalm 150:6 “Let everything that has breath praise the Lord.”
Our breath is so precious. Obviously without it, we could not live. God gave us our very breath when He created us. He breathed the breath of life into our lungs.
Let’s use our breath (words) to honor and glorify God. Let every word we speak bring glory to God today.
Let everything that has breath, Praise the Lord. This will definitely make life better.
