Well, it’s been a long time since I had laryngitis. But today, I could hardly speak at all. So I spent most of the day in silence. Which was not a bad thing. Especially for the people who usually have to listen to me talk. I’m sure they were glad.
A few times throughout the day when I had to speak, I would attempt a word and nothing would come out. I would clear my throat and attempt to whisper a word or two. Believe me, for a guy who loves to talk and interact with people, this is very hard.
Not having a voice made me think of what it would be like if we couldn’t hear God’s voice?
What would it be like to not hear, how much He loves us?
What would it be like to not hear, He has a divine purpose for each of our lives?
What would it be like to not hear, that He can handle all of our problems?
I’m glad I can hear God’s voice. I’m glad God is willing to speak to us through His Word, His Spirit, and our conscience and even through our friends. But I have to say, I usually hear God through that still small voice.
Isaiah 30:21* says, “Your ears shall hear a word behind you, saying, “This is the way, walk in it,” Whenever you turn to the right hand or whenever you turn to the left.”
The word of the day is voice, Declare today that you will hear God’s voice, saying to you, “This is the way, walk in it.”
