A Hindu trader once asked a missionary in India, “What do you put on your face to make it shine?” With surprise the man of God answered, “I don’t put anything on it!” His questioner began to lose patience and said emphatically, “Yes, you do!” All of you who believe in Jesus seem to have it. I’ve seen it in the towns of Agra and Surat, and even in the city of Bombay.” Suddenly the Christian understood, and his face glowed even more as he said, “Now I know what you mean, and I will tell you the secret. It’s not something we put on from the outside but something that comes from within. It’s the reflection of the light of God in our hearts.
Psalms 34:5 They looked to Him and were radiant, and their faces were not ashamed.
What does your face show? Does it have the glow of the radiance of Jesus? Or does it show the cares and concerns of this world. Too many of us carry the cares of the world on our face. We show the hurt, the pain and the disappointment of life. I challenge you to let the radiance of Christ shine through your life. Let every person that you come in contact with see Jesus on your face. Here’s the secret. Keep your eyes on Jesus.
Like the old song says, “Turn you eyes upon Jesus,
Look full in His wonderful face;
And the things of earth will grow strangely dim
In the light of His glory and grace.”
The word of the day, “Turn your eyes upon Jesus.”
