I walked out the front door of my home on a beautiful, but warm summer morning and just out of the corner of my eye I noticed this beautiful bird sitting on her nest, protecting her babies. I gently and quietly moved a little closer to get a picture. She locked her midnight black eyes on me. I could tell she was not about to give up protecting her nest without a fight.
She sat there through the heat and the rain, to protect her babies. It’s instinctive.
God also put an instinctive nature in us to protect those that we love. But our culture pulls us away from the spiritual responsibility. Our culture tells us to look out for only ourselves.
Today’s word is protect. I want to challenge you to protect the ones you love. I’m not suggesting that you buy a gun and build a fortress with a draw bridge and a moat. The best way we can protect the ones we love is by guiding and guarding their hearts. Notice the scripture below says that God’s faithful promises are our armor and protection.
Psalm 91:4 He will cover you with his feathers. He will shelter you with his wings. His faithful promises are your armor and protection.
Be faithful to your spouse. Be faithful to your family. Keep your promises. Do what you say you will do. Be a man or woman of your word. Your faithfulness to your promises will be protection for your family.
