One of the many lessons I learned from my father was, “have fun.”
He was a serious man. He was a determined man. He was extremely intentional in every aspect of his life. But he also knew how to have fun.
In fact, one my fondest memories, was him joining my brothers and I, most afternoons, after he came home from work, on the driveway for a game of basketball.
He would get right in there with us boys and we would play until Mom called us in for dinner.
He knew how to have fun.
We all need to learn how to have fun. Sometimes we let the pressures of life get us so down and so heavy on our shoulders that we fail to enjoy the simple things in life.
You only have this one life, one day and one moment. Make the best of it. Enjoy it. Laugh a little today.
You don’t have to shoot a confetti canon in the office today, but you could probably lighten the mood some with a little effort, in an appropriate way.
You could certainly mix things up a little at home and choose to get out of the same old rut and do something fun today.
Proverbs 17:22 “A merry heart does good, like medicine.”
Speak this word and live this word today and make it a fun day, a fun week and a fun life.
