I was walking on the streets of Los Angeles with our church group on an Inner City Missions Trip a few years ago. One of our young people wanted to give her Bible to a homeless woman on the street. So we made our way back to the van to get her Bible, to give it away. As we walked we were talking about the Bible and how important it is in our lives. I told her when I first started getting something from the Bible is when I stopped reading the Bible and I started letting the Bible read me. Think about it for a minute.
As you read the Bible today, let it read your heart, your mind, your motives and your attitudes. Let it draw out of you, the mindset of the world and replace in you the mindset of Christ.
Romans 12:1-2 says, “Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship. 2 Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.”
The key to knowing the will of God in your life is by being transformed as your mind is renewed with God’s Word. This only takes place as you put the Word of God in your mind, and begin to think the thoughts of God.
The word of the day is transform. Transform your mind with God’s Word.
