The word of the day is blessed.
As I woke up this morning, I couldn’t help but be thankful for all of the blessings of the Lord.
I slept in my own bed last night. My wife and I are healthy. I had a fresh, hot cup of coffee this morning while visiting with Starla. The healthy breakfast I ate was delicious. When I opened my Bible and read from the beautiful scriptures, I felt God speak to me. I felt God’s presence as I talked to Him and He talked to me.
In my closet were multiple options of clothing to choose from today. I selected my favorite pair of jeans. Have I mentioned that I think blue jeans were made in heaven? Anyway, I drove in an air-conditioned car to work. I had a good job to go to. The people I work with are wonderful and make my life so much better.
After eating a nutritious lunch, I returned to work and finished my responsibilities. After work, I headed to the gym. A little sweat and hard work makes me feel better about that chocolate cake I know I am going to eat later. Afterwards, I made my way home and enjoyed a lovely evening meal with my family. Relaxing by the pool, I wrote these simple words.
“Lord, I don’t deserve all the blessings you have given to me. I have not always been the most faithful follower of Christ. But today, I recognize that all of my blessings are a gift from you. Thank you for loving me in spite of my failures and weaknesses.”
Psalm 115:12 “The Lord remembers us and will bless us.”
