Go Through!

help someoneHave you ever shared something with someone and they replied, “I know what you’re going through.”

You understand that they are trying to be comforting, but you know that they actually, have no idea what you are going through. Only someone who has gone through what you have, could possibly understand what you are feeling and experiencing. Sometimes it’s a bit insulting for someone to assume they know what you are experiencing, without ever having faced your particular situation.

Don’t try to give advice to someone when you don’t have a clue. Be honest enough to say, “I understand that I have no idea what you are feeling, but I will try to be as supportive as I can.

One of the things I have learned through the lessons of life is, that I can better relate and better support someone who is going through what I have gone through. And you can too.

Don’t let the pain of your struggles and the lessons of your life be only for you.

Check out the verse below.

2 Corinthians 1:4-5 He comforts us in all our troubles so that we can comfort others. When they are troubled, we will be able to give them the same comfort God has given us. For the more we suffer for Christ, the more God will shower us with his comfort through Christ.

Sometimes we go through what we go through to help others go through what they’re going through.

Remember that you are “going through.” You are not staying here. This is not permanent. This is only a temporary season. You will “go through” this.

The word of the day is go through. Remember whatever you are going through today will allow you to better help someone else tomorrow.
