The Christmas tree has been put away. The Christmas lights have been taken down. The fireplace mantle has been emptied of the Christmas stockings. All of the other Christmas décor has been placed back in the boxes and tubs and stacked away in the garage until next year.
I don’t know about you, but it always seems to me that the house feels so empty after the Christmas decorations come down. I miss Christmas. Okay the truth is I miss the fudge that everyone makes at Christmas time. Where does it go during the rest of the year?
But seriously, I know what happens, because it happens every year. It won’t take long until the house will feel normal again and I won’t even think about Christmas decorations until next year.
Life can be the same way. If we are not careful, we will allow unimportant things to replace the most important things. Oftentimes we just stop reading the Word, praying and going to church and we don’t even realize what we are missing. Then something happens and we need God. Don’t wait until tragedy strikes in your life to turn to God. He wants an everyday relationship with you. He wants you to talk to Him and He wants to talk to you. Take time today and every day to talk to God. He’s waiting on you.
Matthew 7:24 (ESV) “Everyone then who hears these words of mine and does them will be like a wise man who built his house on the rock.”
The word of the day is everyday. God wants an everyday relationship with you. Not just once a week, once a month, or once a year. He wants to be your everything, everyday.
