Luke 2:11 “Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord. 12 This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger.”
A little boy and a little girl were singing, “Silent Night” in church the Sunday before Christmas. The boy concluded “Silent Night” with the words, “sleep in heavenly beans.” His sister elbowed him, and said, “No. Not beans, peas!” That’s the way many of us feel by the time we are ready for Christmas, the song might just as well end with beans or peas instead of peace.
Because sometimes in the frantic rush to get everything done, the peace of the season seems to elude us.
But I have good news for you today. Someone is fighting on your behalf so you can have peace and calm today and every day. His name is Jesus.
If you’ll give Him a chance. Jesus will fight for you today. He was born to you and for you, to be your Savior.
If our greatest need had been information, God would have sent us an educator;
If our greatest need had been technology, God would have sent us a scientist;
If our greatest need had been money, God would have sent us an economist;
If our greatest need had been pleasure, God would have sent us an entertainer;
But our greatest need was forgiveness, so God sent us a Savior.
The word of the day is Savior. A Savior has been born to you.
Take time and express thanks to your Savior today. If you have never accepted Jesus as your Savior. Today is a good day. It’s Jesus’ birthday. Ask Him into your heart today.
