I read of an article that was done of a study that was conducted over many years. The study of many different couples was to determine how the first few minutes of their interaction would affect the remainder of the evening. It was found that within the first three minutes, if something positive was said, then most of the time the rest of their evening was positive as well. But on the other hand, if the first words spoken were negative, the rest of the night would be negative as well. The study showed that this pattern was followed for years into the relationships. When a couple worked on guarding their words and keeping things positive, the relationship would be positive, but if the couple was given to negativity, the relationship was negative as well.
1 Thessalonians 5:11 “Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing.”
The word of the day is encouragement. I challenge you to make sure that the first thing you do each day is encourage others. Encourage your spouse, your children or your co-workers. It will set the tone for something positive to build on for the rest of the day.
Have a great day. I know you will.
