I know most of us don’t consider ourselves to be rich.
- I have a friend who is so poor, he goes to Kentucky Fried Chicken to lick other people’s fingers.
- I have another friend who is so poor, he and his girlfriend got married for the rice.
- I have another friend who is so poor that he just went into McDonald’s and put a small fry on layaway.
Hopefully none of you are in that situation today.
However, consider the fact that in America, the average household income in about $50,000.00
Putting this into perspective. If you make $50,000.00 per year, you are among the top 0.31% of the richest in the world. That means that 99.7% of the rest of the world’s population is poorer than you are. Wow!
If you make $50,000.00 per year in comparison:
- The average worker in Zimbabwe takes 49 years to earn the same amount.
- You could pay for the annual salaries of 224 doctors in Pakistan
- You make $26hr. The average worker in Ghana makes 8 cents per hour.

1 Timothy 6:17 “Command those who are rich in this present world not to be arrogant nor to put their hope in wealth, which is so uncertain, but to put their hope in God, who richly provides us with everything for our enjoyment.”
The word of the day is rich. Declare today that you are rich. But you will not be arrogant or put your hope in wealth. You will always put your hope in God.
