Another great benefit of being thankful is that it gives you a better outlook on life. Let’s face it, if you only listen to the news reports you would think that nothing good ever happens in our world. It seems the only things that get reported are the terrible things that selfish, mean-spirited and hateful people are doing to one another and to the innocent.
“More gratitude may be precisely what our society needs to raise a generation that is ready to make a difference in the world,” study researcher Giacomo Bono, Ph.D., a psychology professor at California State University.
Today’s Scripture: Jeremiah 30:19 “Out of them shall come songs of thanksgiving, and the voices of those who celebrate. I will multiply them, and they shall not be few; I will make them honored, and they shall not be small.
Let’s declare this for our children and our grandchildren.
Today’s Challenge: I want to encourage you today to go out of your way to notice something specific that a young person does and thank them for it. (i.e.: opening a door, taking out trash, letting someone in front of them in a line, saying Yes Mam or Yes Sir) Thank them for their responsible act.
People will continue to do what gets praised. Spend more time thanking people for the good things they are doing and less time complaining about what is not getting done. Just try it and see what happens.
