One of these days, we will all stand before God and He will say, “Come on in.” or “Depart from me, I never knew you.”
It is very clear. The single most important thing in life is knowing him.
What does it mean, to know Christ? It means the same thing as in a real relationship. Spending time together, have a real conversation, getting to know each other’s likes and dislikes. Understanding the uniqueness of each other’s personality and desires.
The problem a lot of people have is confusing doing with knowing. Doing things for God is not the same as knowing Him.
I have a Jason Witten, Dallas Cowboy jersey. I will wear it and cheer for the Cowboys. However, Jason doesn’t know me, nor does Jerry Jones. However, they are happy to allow me to wear Cowboys merchandise and cheer for them without knowing me. But Jesus is not like that. (no offense to the Cowboys) Jesus is not willing for you to live for Him, (cheer for Him) without wanting to get to know you and you to get to know Him. He wants to be with you in your commute to work. He wants to comfort you when you are hurting and counsel you throughout the day. He wants to guide to make the best choices and lead you to make divine connections with other people for a Kingdom impact. He wants to walk every step of the day with you.
Just invite Him to be with you today. And get ready to have your mind blown. Because the King of the Universe will accept your invitation.
So talk to him. Listen to him. All day long! Get to Know him! The word of the day is Knowing Christ.
