What if you woke up today with only the things you thanked God for yesterday?
That’s a great question and a great thought.
But what if it were true? What kind of things would you have in your life today? You get to choose, by the way you give thanks.
There is always something to be thankful for.
Always remember that. No matter how difficult things may be. No matter how challenging life becomes, there is always something to be thankful for. You just have to program your way of thinking to be thankful.
Will there be reasons to complain or reasons to be upset or angry? Sure. But if you give voice to the negative things in your life, you will give life to them. Whatever you give voice to, is what you give life to.
You have to be intentional about being thankful.
It is oftentimes more difficult to find things to be thankful for than it is to complain. But if you set your mind to it, you can develop the attitude of gratitude.
Today’s Scripture: Ephesians 1:15-16 “ For this reason, ever since I heard about your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love for all God’s people, 16 I have not stopped giving thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers.”
I want to thank each of you who have followed me on this 21 Days of Thanksgiving. I hope that we all have created an entirely new way of thinking and thanking.
Tomorrow my blog will go back to focusing on a word of the day. I will choose one word to focus on each day and give direction and purpose to my day. Since the power of life and death are in my words, I refuse to just let my day happen, I choose to make my day happen. I choose to give my day direction with a “word” focus. I encourage you to stay with me on this journey.
Today’s Challenge: Go back and read over the challenges of the past 21 days. (They are all available at kendallbridges.com) If you missed a challenge, do it today. Or, determine what the most difficult challenge was and do it again. Or, remind yourself of what the most meaningful challenge was and determine how you can work that in to your daily habits.
I’ll see you on the thankful side of life.
Stay Thankful,
Kendall Bridges
