If you have ever worked in the service industry as a waiter or waitress or you have friends or family members who have, then I am sure you have heard them speak of the dreaded shift that no one wants to work. The Sunday lunch shift.
Why is that? Simply put, church attendees don’t tip well. They are considered to be pushy, arrogant, condescending, rude and sometimes downright mean. What is the deal with that? If anybody on this planet should be kind, considerate, appreciative, thankful, thoughtful and generous, it should be people who just spent the morning at church.
But sadly, that isn’t always the case. However, you don’t have to be part of that cranky crowd. You can be extraordinary, uncommon, unique, grateful and kind.
Today’s Scripture: Psalm 69:30 “I will praise the name of God with a song; I will magnify him with thanksgiving.”
Today’s Challenge: Make sure and show your gratitude to a waiter or waitress. You can really show them your gratitude by tipping extravagantly today. (Twice as much as normal)
And all the wait staff said, “Amen.”
Don’t measure a tip by how well you were served or not. Measure your tip by how much of an impression you could make on your waiter. Then you have the opportunity to speak into their life with encouragement, gratitude or even an invitation to church.
Ps. 69:30 “I will magnify him with thanksgiving.” Even our thanksgiving to others magnifies God. Then people will want to know what makes you different. Bam! Open door! Share Christ.
Stay Thankful,
Kendall Bridges
