There are so many positive reasons for developing a healthy habit of thanksgiving.
One of those happens to be better sleep.
Did you know that taking the time to write down what you are thankful for can help you sleep better. Researchers have found that people who spend 15 minutes a day jotting down what they are thankful for before bedtime, will fall asleep faster and sleep longer.
Well that’s reason enough for me to start counting my blessings and naming them one by one, before I go to bed tonight.
Today’s Scripture: 1 Chronicles 16:34 “Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; his love endures forever.”
As you read over this scripture today, think of all of the ways the Lord has been good to you. You could even do a little extra credit work and make a list. It would be a great reminder to you of how good and awesome God really is.
Today’s Challenge: Tell your spouse or your best friend the “one” thing that you are most thankful for in their life. Say it sincerely or write it down on a note and leave it where they will find it.
Remember, each time that you choose thanksgiving over complaint or worry, you are separating yourself from the pack of ordinary and you are becoming extraordinary.
