I am notorious for taking shortcuts when we are driving somewhere. I always think I can find a faster way to get there. It’s not so much that I think I know better than anyone else, it’s more of a competition with myself. The truth is, they don’t usually work out. I hit dead-end roads, dead-end parking lots or streets that take me so far out of my way, that I have to circle back and start over where I began. Oftentimes, Starla will notice that we have veered from the familiar path and ask, “Is this another one of your shortcuts?” It usually is. However, when it comes to getting into the Presence of God, there is no shortcut. It still takes, fasting, prayer, worship, reading His Word, obeying His word, making sacrifices, denying yourself and trusting God in order to access the Presence of God.
Jeremiah 29:13 says, “You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.”
You still must seek Him with your whole heart. Half-hearted efforts will not get you there. Give Him your very best each day and you will find His very best for you each day.
The word of the day is, “no short cuts.” Declare today that you will not take short cuts and you will do whatever it takes to honor the Lord and get in His presence each day. The effort is always worth it.
Have a better day my friend.
