I was watching a reality TV show recently where the well-known chef comes into a failing restaurant and tries to rescue it. Most of the time, the first thing that is done, other than unnecessary swearing, is to simplify the menu. Too many failing restaurants have stretched themselves too far, trying to do everything, that they don’t do anything well.
Have you ever been guilty of complicating things? We often get so distracted by things that don’t really matter. We get stressed over things that are not even vital to the major issues in our life.
Take some time today and scale things back to what really matters. Just focus on the things that you really believe are God’s assignment for you. Don’t let others guilt trip you into doing their jobs for them. Stay focused and be more effective today.
The Apostle Paul summed up his ministry focus in just a few words. “Christ! No more, no less.” (a summary of Colossians 1:26-29)
The word of the day is “Christ! No more, no less.” If it’s good enough for Paul, it’s good enough for me.
