Three Ways God Answers Prayer

There are many ways that God answers His people, when we pray. I will just share with you three simple answers to our prayers.

1. The first answer that we may hear from God is… “NO”

Obviously this is never the answer that we want to hear. However, I have found that God always knows what is best even when I do not understand.

My father was diagnosed with Acute Leukemia. We received the news that he had one to three days to live. We desperately pleaded with God to heal my father. There were hundreds and thousands of people calling on God for a supernatural healing. But God said “NO.”

The scripture that God gave me to stand on was this scripture in the eleventh chapter of Hebrews.

Hebrews 11:40 God had planned something better for us so that only together with us would they be made perfect.

In the same way, children ask parents for things and are told “no,” because parents know what is best for them. God always knows what is better for us. We have to learn to trust Him.

2. The second answer that we may hear from God is… “WAIT.”

Proverbs 3:5-6 “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight”

There are times that God wants to give us what we ask for, but not now. Have you ever had your son or daughter ask you to let them drive before they had a Driver’s License? Did they ever ask you to date before they were old enough? Of course. So the answer was, “You will have to wait.” It’s not that God doesn’t want us to have what we have asked, it just may not be the right time. There is a time for everything and only God knows the perfect timing.

3. The third answer that we may hear from God is… “YES.”

John 15:7 But if you remain in me and my words remain in you, you may ask for anything you want, and it will be granted!

1 John 5:14-15 And we are confident that he hears us whenever we ask for anything that pleases him. 15 And since we know he hears us when we make our requests, we also know that he will give us what we ask for.

Matthew 7:7 “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.”

There are plenty of scriptures to give us the faith and the confidence that God can and will answer when we pray. So keep asking, seeking and knocking. The door will be opened to you.

I remember when the doctors told me that I had a tumor in my spinal column that they believed could kill me. We prayed for a miracle and God said, “YES.”

Whether God says, “No, Wait, or Yes,” we have to trust Him at all times. He is a loving and faithful God who cares about His children. He loves you and has an incredible plan for your life. He can’t wait to reveal it to you.

James 5:16 “The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective”

The word of the day is Answered Prayer.
