Good Measure, Pressed Down!

measureHave you ever been frustrated at the amount of respect that you may or may not get in life? Are you discouraged with the amount of attention you get in life? Are you saddened by the amount of love that you get in your life? If so, then I know who is to blame and I know who can fix this problem in your life.

Go look in the mirror? That’s the person who is to blame and it is also the person who can fix this problem.

I know, you think it’s the person at work, or your parents, your children or your spouse’s fault. But no, it’s you.

How do I know this?

The scripture below teaches us that when it comes to judgment, condemnation, forgiveness or even giving, that we decide the level of return that comes back into our life, based on the amount of judgment, condemnation, forgiveness or giving that we exercise.

Luke 6:37-38 “Do not judge, and you will not be judged. Do not condemn, and you will not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven. Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.”

The word of the day is measure. Because the truth is, I can choose to measure what will be returned in my life, based on what I sow. This principle applies to every area of life. I can use a small measuring cup or a large measuring cup. It all depends on how much I want returned to my life.

If you want more love, show more love. If you want more mercy, show more mercy. If you want more peace, show more peace.

The good news is, the choice is yours. So quit blaming everyone else.

Go make your life better one action at a time.
