I was attending my grandson’s Pre-K graduation recently. All of the kids in the graduating class were video recorded and asked the question, “What do you want to be when you grow up?” He answered, “A construction man.” Hey, someone has to construct the highways and build the buildings. But just two weeks later he was in my car and I asked him, “Hey Kanon, what do you want to be when you grow up? He answered, “A super spy!”
Do you remember those days when, what you wanted to be, when you grew up, kept changing?
Now here you are, all grown up, and you are still trying to figure out, what you are going to be, when you grow up?
Life is full of twists and turns and ever-changing goals and dreams.
Check out this verse:
James 4:13-16 (NLT) 13 Look here, you who say, “Today or tomorrow we are going to a certain town and will stay there a year. We will do business there and make a profit.” 14 How do you know what your life will be like tomorrow? Your life is like the morning fog—it’s here a little while, then it’s gone. 15 What you ought to say is, “If the Lord wants us to, we will live and do this or that.” 16 Otherwise you are boasting about your own pretentious plans, and all such boasting is evil.
Life is about balance. You have to learn to balance your dreams and goals with the surrender to God’s ultimate dreams and goals. God could always call an audible and change the direction of your life.
Keep determined in pursuing your dreams, but stay surrendered to God’s will for your life. He might have a different plan than you thought.
The word of the day is balance. Stay balanced.
