I did it again!

pizzaI can’t believe it. I did it again!

The pizza was hot, when it arrived at my table. It smelled delicious. I could see the steam rising from the cheesy pie that I was about to devour. I couldn’t wait to sink my teeth into it.

Of course, I waited for the prayer to be offered. Then, as I held the pizza and took my first bite, immediately, I thought to myself, “I did it again!”

I burnt the roof of my mouth, when I took a bite of that hot pizza.

The frustrating thing is, I do it all the time. You would think I would learn the lesson by now. But I don’t like cold or even lukewarm pizza. I don’t really like my mouth being burned either. But trying to find that balance between a hot pizza, and not burning my mouth, has been a problem for me.

James 3:2 “For all of us make many mistakes.”

Yes, we all make many mistakes. Unless you learn the lesson from your mistakes, you will continue to make the same mistake over and over.

The word of the day is lesson. Life is full of lessons. But if we refuse to learn the lesson, like me and my pizza, you will keep burning your mouth over and over.

Ask God to help you learn the lessons from your mistakes today and every day.

Don’t keep repeating the same mistakes.

Have a better day!
