“Little Things” This is the word for the day. Okay I know its two words, but don’t get too technical. Tell yourself that there is power in the “little things.”
Most things are made to grow. Children grow. Trees grow. Businesses, churches and organizations grow. If something is not growing we look for the answer. The one thing they all have in common is that they all start out little. As little things grow they have the potential to become big things, whether good or bad.
Song of Solomon 2:15 Catch for us the foxes, the little foxes that ruin the vineyards, our vineyards that are in bloom.
It wasn’t the big foxes that were getting in through the fence and ruining the vineyard. It was the little foxes. This is just an illustration of the importance and impact of little things. If you are not careful, you can easily overlook little things as not important enough to address or deal with. But little things are so much easier to handle before they become “BIG” issues.
My challenge to you today is to enjoy the little things in life. One day you will look back and realize they were actually the big things.
If you take care of the little things, the big things will take care of themselves.
Remember, life isn’t about the “Big things.” It’s about the “Little Things” that make a “Big Difference.”
Today, take a little extra time to enjoy some of life’s little pleasures.
- Enjoy a sunrise.
- Savor a cup of coffee with a family member or friend.
- Go to a favorite bakery or coffee shop and share a dessert with someone.
- Eat lunch outside under the shade of a tree.
- Call someone you haven’t spoken to in a while and just say, hello.
- Hold the door for someone or thank them for something most people wouldn’t notice.
- Smile and speak to a stranger today.
- Write someone a card today and just say, “You were on my mind.”
- Make hot chocolate or popcorn and watch an old movie.
- Sit outside and count the stars.
- Take a walk in the moonlight.
Make your own list.
I think you get what I am saying. Just get back to enjoying the little things of life.
“Most folks are as happy as they make up their minds to be.” -Abraham Lincoln
