Peace in the Storm!

PeaceI love laying on a beach and listening to the sound of the waves rush in. I love to lay by a lake or creek and listen to the peaceful sounds of the rippling water. I love sitting in my back yard and listening to the waterfall over the rocks by my pool. (all it takes is a mosquito to ruin this moment of peace.)

There is a peaceful sound of water and then there is a raging storm that changes everything.

PEACE is the word for today. Peace is the word I want you to speak over your life, marriage and family today.

Are you feeling frustrated, hopeless or overwhelmed?

It’s easy to feel this way when our lives are turned upside down. When “storms” hit our lives, families and marriages we easily lose our peace.

Peace is the feeling you get when everything seems to be clear, settled and in its right place. We are robbed of peace when things get messy in our lives or we allow our focus to be shifted from the reality that God is in control.

There are so many things that rob us of our peace throughout the day. Worry, fear, betrayal, unforgiveness or unnecessary frustrations can all rob us of our peace.

I want you to choose to speak peace over yourself and your marriage throughout the day. Just breathe the word peace when you start feeling anxiety or fear. Write it down somewhere in plain sight to remind you.

What difference can a few words make? Your words are the difference between life and death. (Proverbs 18:21)

Colossians 3:15-17Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful. 16 Let the word of Christ dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom through psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit, singing to God with gratitude in your hearts. 17 And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.”
