The Love of God!

Love of GodIn 1917 Frederick M. Lehman wrote a song called “The Love of God.” Every now and then a song comes along that just strikes a chord and leaves a lasting impression on your soul. This is one of those songs. It expresses the height and depth and the width and breadth of God’s love, as well as someone could.

Chorus: “Oh, love of God, how rich and pure!
How measureless and strong!
It shall forevermore endure—
The saints’ and angels’ song.”

Now do me a favor and read this third verse very slowly. Then read it again.

Verse 3: “Could we with ink the ocean fill,
And were the skies of parchment made,
Were every stalk on earth a quill,
And every man a scribe by trade;
To write the love of God above
Would drain the ocean dry;
Nor could the scroll contain the whole,
Though stretched from sky to sky.”

Now stop and pause and thank God for His great love for you.
