Burnt Toast!

burnt toastAs our children were growing up, Starla was usually taking care of babies while I would wake up the older kids, and prepare breakfast for them and take them to school. I didn’t have a lot of skills in the kitchen, so my menu items were very few. I rotated between eggs, bacon and toast, oatmeal and toast, cereal and toast, or cinnamon toast. Yes, my kids ate a lot of toast! It’s amazing to me, that as much as I included toast into every breakfast choice, I could never get it right. I always seemed to burn the toast. I know, you’re thinking, “Why not use the toaster?” Because bread toasted in the oven is so much more superior to bread toasted in a toaster. Case closed. Enough said.

In fact, I was fixing breakfast the other day for one of my grandkids and you guessed it. I burned the toast.

The point is real simple, “PAY ATTENTION!”

It is easy to get distracted with so many things going on in life and at breakfast. But you have to pay attention or you will burn the toast.

What is it in your life that keeps getting burned? Do you need to set a timer, change your habits, get some accountability or do something different? If you are not willing to make the changes necessary, you’re probably going to keep burning the toast.

Isaiah 28:23 “Listen and hear my voice; pay attention and hear what I say.”

The word of the day is, pay attention.

Life is so much better when it is perfectly toasted.
