I was driving in downtown Dallas recently. I made a right turn, only to realize that every car was headed toward me. That’s right, I had just turned on a “One Way” Street. I quickly stopped and turned around as people stared and glared. Some seemed annoyed and others amused. I didn’t intentionally try to endanger my life or others. I just made a wrong turn. It could have been very unfortunate. But thankfully, I corrected my mistake with no damage to anyone, except my pride.
It’s amazing to me how easy it is to make a wrong turn. The same is true in life. If we are not careful, we can make the wrong turn, take the wrong advice, speak the wrong words, choose the wrong friends, head the wrong direction, make the wrong decision and find ourselves headed toward a collision.
But I believe God gives us all a chance to make the quick and immediate correction in our lives to avoid the unfortunate collision that we are headed toward.
1 Corinthians 10:13 “And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it.”
The word of the day is “One Way.” There is only one way. It is God’s way, through Jesus Christ. His way leads to peace and fulfillment, the wrong way leads to a collision.
Keep heading the right direction, the “one way” with Jesus Christ.
