Have you ever noticed that people usually sit in the same place at church every Sunday? They park in the same area of the parking lot. Whether it’s at church, school, theaters or wherever, we usually get into a routine and seldom do we break that routine. Why is that? We get comfortable. We know what to expect. There are fewer surprises.
But the spice of life is in the surprises, adventures and discovering new things. Why don’t you break out of your routine and create a new routine of flexibility, adventure, surprise, fun and excitement? We know that not every attempt will be a home run. But you will discover new things that you never would have, had you not been willing to try something different.
Sit in a different section this Sunday. Park in a different area at work. Eat at a new restaurant. Drive a different route home. Try something new. But remember that whatever you do, do it as unto the Lord.
Colossians 3:23-24 says, “Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive an inheritance as your reward. You are serving the Lord Christ.”
The word of the day is routine. Break out of the old routine and break into a new routine.
