Recently I spoke at Southwestern Assemblies of God University Chapel. I challenged students who were struggling about the call of God on their lives to come forward and expect a touch from God. A young lady came up to me afterwards and told me how she felt compelled to come forward, but was afraid of what others would think. She came anyway. She immediately saw that another student followed her. She was standing in the altar and thought she heard my voice speaking to her. When she opened her eyes, I was on the other side of the chapel. At that point she knew that God was speaking to her. I began to tell her that her willingness to be vulnerable and obedient will be a key for her to impact other people and to hear the voice of God. Her eyes got really big and she said, “And that’s exactly what God was saying to me.”
The word of the day is, “Don’t be anxious, trust God.”
Philippians 4:6-7 “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.7 And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”
Did you know that an average person’s anxiety is focused on:
40% — things that will never happen
30% — things about the past that can’t be changed
12% — things about criticism by others, mostly untrue
10% — about health, which gets worse with stress
8% — about real problems that will be faced
In other words, 92% of the things we worry about, never even happen, or, we have no control over.
Don’t be anxious, trust God.
