The word of the day is promotion.
Everyone wants a promotion. But not everyone wants added responsibility.
But with most any promotion comes added responsibility.
I heard of an employee who approached his boss about a promotion. The boss asked him, “What additional responsibilities are you willing to take on to justify a promotion? The young employee looked like his boss was speaking in a language he didn’t understand. So the boss said it again, just a little different one more time. “What additional problems are you willing to solve for me to merit a promotion?” The young employee still looked like he didn’t get it.
In almost every area of life, you need to solve additional problems in order to deserve a promotion.
But let me give you a little thought from the Book of Psalms.
Psalm 75:7 says, “It is God who judges: He brings one down, he exalts another.”
God is ultimately the one who promotes or demotes. If you believe you are deserving of a promotion, take it to God and let Him handle it for you.
I believe God can move on the heart of your employer to see your worth and contribution to your company. God may show you the additional problems that you can solve for your employer to guarantee the promotion. Be open to God’s ideas.
I also believe that God can bring promotion to you, your family, your marriage and your personal life.
Get ready for your promotion.
