Hold up a glass of water and ask, “How much does this glass of water weigh?
8oz. – 20oz.?
The actual weight of the glass doesn’t matter. It’s how long you have to hold it that matters.
- If you hold it for a minute, that’s no big deal.
- If you hold it for an hour, your arm will begin to hurt.
- If you hold it for a day, your arm will probably give out under the pressure.
In each instance, the weight of the glass doesn’t change, but the longer you hold it, the heavier it becomes and the more impossible the task is.
The stress and the worries of life are like this glass of water.
- Think about them for a while and no big deal.
- Think about them a little longer and they begin to hurt.
- Think about them all day long and you will crumble under the pressure.
Matthew 11:28 “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.”
The word of the day is “lay it down.”
There’s no need for you to carry those burdens any more. Give them to Jesus and allow your life to be better.
