Starla and I were on an outreach recently with a group from our church. We happened by an old wedding chapel. Sitting on the bench in front of the chapel was a couple. It appeared they were waiting on someone to arrive. I pulled up and approached the waiting couple. I told them that, “I know this seems oddly random, but I was driving by and saw you sitting here and felt like I should stop and pray for you” That’s when I met Enrique and Eileen for the very first time. Then I asked, “How can I pray for you?” They weren’t really sure what to say, so I asked them if I could pray for their upcoming marriage.? They said, “Sure.” So, I did, and then I felt the Lord prompt me to ask them if they had ever put their trust in Christ as their Savior. Enrique said he had as a child, but was not serving the Lord right now. Eileen said, that she never had. Within a few moments I shared the gospel of Jesus with them and they both accepted Christ as their Savior.
2 Corinthians 5:17 “If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things are passed away and all things have become new.”
Enrique and Eileen are new today! How about you?
The word of the day is new today. Old things are passed away and everything becomes new the day you accept Christ. What are you waiting for?
